Show Titles
CH
(Ch) - Champion - (these Adult classes and title are for male or
female cats)
PR
(Pr) - Premier - (these Adult classes and title are for spayed and
neutered cats)
The CH and PR title indicates that a competitor has won 6 winners
ribbons which reflects their "Show Quality" status. They are then
able to compete for the GRAND points needed to attain the following:
GC
- Grand Champion - (male or female cats) attained by defeating 200
other cats in competition
GP
- Grand Premier - (neutered or spayed cats) attained by defeating 75
other cats in competition
The above titles are lifetime achievement titles. Kittens can begin
competing at 4 months of age and are eligible to compete in the
Kitten division through 7 months of age. It takes an Exceptional
Kitten to achieve any of the above titles in that short 4 month span
of competition. At 8 months of age, they are considered Adults and
then compete in the Adult division.
Next in line are the titles of RW (Regional Winner) and NW
- (National Winner) both of which are awarded yearly based on
accumulated points for that particular show season (May 1 - Apr 30).
RW
- Regional Winner - The top 25 CH adult cats of all breeds that
compete within regions (the region in which the Texas Belle kitties
compete includes 10 states). The top 20 PR kittens can be RW's also.
The points are kept separate by category.... championship,
premiership and kitten.
NW
- National Winner - (includes Japan, Hawaii and parts of Europe)
-The top 25 CH adult cats of all breeds. The top 20 PR kittens can
be NW's also. The points are kept separate by category....
championship, premiership and kitten
BW
- Best of Breed Winner - Since 2001 CFA has awarded the BW title to
the top cat if it's breed in Championship
Note: All of the above titles, once earned, become part of the cat's
name and appear in front of the given registered name.
DM
- Distinguished Merit - this title is awarded to the parents of
accomplished offspring. For a male cat to achieve DM status - he
must sire 15 offspring that achieve GC or GP status. For a female
cat to be awarded her DM status - she must have 5 GC or GP
offspring.
The DM title
also becomes part of the cat's name and appears directly after the
registered given name. |
